Rejected By Man... Treasured By God!

While in prayer, the Father spoke to me concerning many of you who are single mothers, who've been turned out, rejected and abandoned by a man who once loved you, but chose not to keep you or his child in his life.

This is not at all a new story, as we examine the story of Hagar, Abraham's slave woman and the mother of his son, Ishmael (Genesis 16 & 21).

When she desperately wanted a son, Abraham's wife Sarah, told him to sleep with her servant Hagar in order to produce an heir. When Hagar got pregnant and gave birth to Ishmael, they all got exactly what they wanted, an heir for Abraham, but when it didn't work out the way they expected, Hagar ended up put out, abandoned and wandering the desert... alone, afraid and in despair.

Even though Abraham loved her and their child, Hagar was not the chosen one and neither was his first born son. What she and Abraham once shared was special and intimate, but it wasn't enough to bring Hagar the true love and emotional fulfillment she was hoping for.

Nevertheless, as Ishmael's name means, "God hears", God heard her cry and the cry of her son and He came to her aid! Man may have rejected her, but God was there to cover her, protect her and provide for her and her child, ultimately blessing Ishmael to become a great nation in his own right!

You may be feeling exactly like Hagar right now - wounded, unwanted and struggling to care for a child who was rejected and abandoned by the very man who should have been there for you both. But know that God hears, God sees and God is blessing you right now! Not only to survive the struggle of abandonment, but to ultimately lay hold of the blessings that He has laid up for you and yours. For you see, Ishmael may not have been God's choice to bless Abraham's lineage, yet God still saw him as a child of purpose, who became a great man of destiny!

And God most definitely has a plan for your life and for your children... A plan for good and not for evil... A plan to bless you and bring you all that you've ever hoped for! No matter what it looks like in the natural, God indeed has a plan to bless you! The key to unlocking that plan is to do what Hagar did and cry out to God, right where you are!

Stop trying to chase that man and stop fretting over what He refused to do! Stop waiting for him to be the gentlemen you want him to be and chase after God instead! Let Him be the gentle, loving, caring man in your life! Let God open doors for you and provide for you and your child.

If you're feeling bitter, angry and frustrated about the way you've been treated, ask God to break all that off of your life, heal your heart and help you and your child make a fresh start according to His will and His leading for your life! You don't have to stay in that place of hurt and disappointment! Whatever you need can be found in fellowship with the Father because His unending, unconditional, everlasting love is without measure and He will not let you down or leave you alone... EVER!

Read the promise of God spoken over Ishmael's like when God heard that child crying in the wilderness (Gen. 21:17-18 Message):

"Meanwhile, God heard the boy crying. The angel of God called from Heaven to Hagar, “What’s wrong, Hagar? Don’t be afraid. God has heard the boy and knows the fix he’s in. Up now; go get the boy. Hold him tight. I’m going to make of him a great nation.”

God heard Ishmael, He heard Hagar and He hears you as well... Ask Him for what you need and He will deliver!

Be Encouraged!
